Rhythm is pretty self explanatory. It is a pattern in a picture. Like taking a picture of a line of trees or a line of mountains. That is rhythm because it is a pattern. What makes some pictures more interesting at times is when there is something that breaks the rhythm. Like green blades of grass, then a yellow blade of grass, then green blades again.
This is rhythm. The rhythm created here is the rectangles and it is being broken by the green plant in between.
The rhythm in this picture is the lizard scales. They form a pattern on his or her skin and the background is just there but has a sort of rhythm to it too. This picture is an example of rhythm without breaking. Unlike the one above.
